Kaikille yhteinen katsomo muuttuu Jyväskylän Lounaispuistossa hetkellisesti ympäristötaideteokseksi. Jyväskyläläis-syntyinen tekstiilitaiteilija Johanna Kunelius (s. 1975) saapuu Yläkaupungin Yöhön mukanaan valikoima kierrätysmateriaaleja ja leikkimielisyyttä. Puistoalueella improvisoidaan taiteilijan ohjauksessa teos ISOSYDÄMISIÄ.
Taiteellisesta vapaudesta syntyy uutta ja kiinnostavaa, kun työhuoneena on avoin kaupunkitila. Haluan haastaa käsityötaitoni, tekstiilitekniikat ja erilaiset kierrätysmateriaalit taipumaan rohkeasti penkin muotoihin. Haluan haastaa myös sinut tekemään yhdessä ja elävöittämään kaupunkia.
Taidekatsomo on yhteisöllinen, visuaalinen sekä kosketuksen kautta koettava elämys. Voit osallistua taiteen tekoprosessiin tai tulla istumaan taiteen päälle tai sen vierelle Lounaispuistossa.
Taidekatsomo ISOSYDÄMISIÄ liittyy isompaan teoskokonaisuuteen, mitä Kunelius rakentaa yksin sekä yhdessä kaupunkilaisten kanssa penkeillä ympäri Suomea vuoden 2017 ja 2018 aikana.

The public seats located in the Lounaispuisto Park in Jyväskylä are momentarily transformed into a piece of environmental art. Jyväskylä-born textile artist Johanna Kunelius (b. 1975) arrives at the city festival YLÄKAUPUNGIN YÖ accompanied with a selection of recycled materials and playfulness. An artwork ISOSYDÄMISIÄ is improvised in the park area under the instruction of the artist.
Artistic freedom gives birth to new and interesting when the working studio is the whole open city space. I want to challenge my skills as an artisan, my techniques with textiles and various recycled materials, and bend them boldly into the shapes of the bench. I also want to challenge you to create with me, and make the city more alive.
The art seats is an experience that is both communal, visual and experienced through touch. You can participate in the art-making process or come and sit on top of or next to art to the Lounaispuisto Park.
The art seats ISOSYDÄMISIÄ is part of a larger series of artwork, which Kunelius creates alone and in co-operation with the citypeople on the benches around Finland during the years 2017 and 2018.
